8 Ways to Beat Stress with CBD:

According to the American Psychological Association (APA), almost 60% of Americans say work is a significant source of stress.
It’s no wonder CBD has become so popular. Studies and countless personal accounts alike show cannabidiol (CBD), the non-psychoactive compound found in hemp and cannabis, is amazing at eliminating stress.
Want to beat your stresses and balance out your life a bit? Who doesn’t? Seeing as most of us have to go to work on a regular basis, we might as well enjoy it as much as we possibly can. Check out the following ways CBD can help eliminate stress.
🌿1. Decrease Oxidative Stress:
Oxidative stress occurs when free radicals produced by the body overwhelms the natural healing process. Oxidation tends to increase when we’re emotionally and/or physically stressed. If you’re eating a healthy diet, getting enough antioxidants, and exercising regularly, you’ll typically feel fine. If you don’t, however, you’re bound to feel the signs of oxidative stress. Some of the symptoms associated with oxidative stress include:
• Brain Fog/Difficulty Concentrating
• Wrinkles/Grey Hair
• Sensitivity to noise
• Muscle/Joint Pain
Oxidative stress can lead to several health conditions such as, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, anxiety, insomnia, Alzheimer’s disease, cancer, and more.
Taking CBD may be able to help. There are countless antioxidants found in both hemp and cannabis, with CBD containing these antioxidant properties. A 1998 study found that both CBD and THC contain antioxidants and that CBD is a potential therapeutic agent for the treatment of oxidative neurological disorders. Oxidative stress has shown to play a large role in the development of several neurological diseases. CBD then, can help reduce oxidative stress, which can help reduce stress felt.

Aside from chronic pain, one of the principal reasons people take CBD is to reduce anxiety. CBD has been shown to be effective in the treatment of several anxiety disorders, including generalized anxiety disorder and post-traumatic stress disorder. Seeing that stress and anxiety go hand-in-hand, reducing your anxiety with CBD can have a significant impact on the stress you feel.

Generalized anxiety and public speaking anxiety are totally different things. People with public speaking anxiety might feel fine aside from the moments they need to get up in front of a group of people and speak or give a presentation. One study found that CBD was excellent in decreasing public speaking anxiety and provides an anxiolytic effect in individuals experiencing a stressful situation.

Stress can take a serious toll on your focus. If you feel like you’re in a fog half the time, it’s safe to say you’re not the only one. Whether your lack of focus is from poor sleep (which work and life stress can contribute to), dissatisfaction at work, lack of physical exercise, or ADD/ADHD, the inability to focus on what you’re supposed to be doing at work can become extremely stressful. Several studies have looked at the effect of CBD on ADHD with positive conclusions. Even if you don’t suffer from ADHD, keeping focused at work isn’t always easy. CBD has shown to increase focus and concentration, which can in turn help reduce some of the stresses you might feel.

CBD has shown to be an excellent aid in improving brain function. One study found that CBD helps promote neurogenesis in the brain, a process in which new brain cells are constantly created. Taking CBD can help create new brain cells! Whether you’re hitting an afternoon slump and hitting up Starbucks for your afternoon latte because of it or seem like you’re always in some constant type of brain fog, taking CBD should help. Rather than reach for the afternoon coffee, think about taking CBD sublingually instead. You’ll likely find your mental clarity increases, while stress begins to dissipate.

Lack of sleep is one of the largest contributors to stress that exists. A 2017 study showed that CBD holds promise to improve REM sleep and reduce daytime sleepiness. If you find yourself exhausted during the day, CBD could help by promoting more sound sleep at night, so you can get done during the day what needs to be done.
